A Boast in the style of Beowulf…
I belong by birth to the Andersen Clan of the North
And owe allegiance to the Great
University of Michigan. I have survived
Three long and frigid winters soundly searching
Ann Arbor for subjects that are worthy of my
Applauded artistic attention. I have procured
A plethora of prizes pleasing to one’s seeing-orbs.
I, Zoe, daughter of John,
Succeeded in triumphing over
The subjective and biased TAPPS Art
Competitions in cold-months past.
I continue to conquer the trite sculptures and
Pedestrian paintings with my insightful and eloquent
Compositions. Otherwise, the future art-admirers
Must endure the stale, banal
Themes of mediocre art-makers.
Fate has dealt me a Kindly hand,
And I have gone forth and Entered
The collegiate atmosphere, Majoring in Art
And Minoring in Classical Studies. I will graduate
With Honors and satisfaction, Able to see
The green-globe As the Great Guiding God
Intended For all his valiant and venturesome people.
You shall know me whence I come successful.
For I am Zoe, daughter of John.
GO BLUE!
